Toledo First Seventh-day Adventist Church was established in 1888. Our multi-cultural multi-generational congregations goal is to connect with Christ, connect with each other, and connect with our community. We want you to join us as we share the love of God by proclaiming Jesus' everlasting Gospel to "every tribe, nation, language, and people" (Revelation 14:6).
Connecting to Christ
Join us in fellowship each Saturday for our weekly Sabbath worship service by planning a visit in person or watching our TFSDA.org live stream. Come to church and fellowship while we learn in Sabbath school for both adults and children and sing joyously to start the day with our Singspiration service. Then join us all in the Sanctuary @ 11:00am as we conduct our main service with praises and messages as we enjoy a "Happy Sabbath" together with Christ.
Connecting to Christ does not end with just a Sabbath service. Join us for many of the other events and programs throughout the year. Toledo First Seventh-Day Adventist is host to a myriad of other opportunities to connect through bible studies, and prayer groups both through zoom and in person. We encourage you to connect to these programs through our TFSDA events calendar and Ministry services.
Sometimes our connection with Christ cannot wait for the next scheduled event. TFSDA's online resources, Facebook, and YouTube channel are available to those looking to connect on your schedule. Please access these as often as you like and we look forward to connecting with you at the next scheduled time.
Connecting with each other
Love your neighbor like yourself
Our mission of connection extends to a fellowship with those whom we share worship and activities throughout the year. Our various ministry teams hold events, and activities throughout the year that cater to just about everyone. Youth programs such as Pathfinders and Adventures are ways that young people can learn of Gods love together while participating fun activities. Our Women's and Men's ministry teams routinely put on fellowship events and activities designed to bring our faith based community together for shared experiences.
TFSDA also hosts events that bring those with similar interests or needs together to share, learn, and grow with each other and Christ. There are events for everyone, including our annual Ringfest concert that connects bell choirs throughout the united States and jam sessions for the musically inclined. Sports ministry events such as basketball, or pickle ball for the athletic or just competitive. Potluck meals and social events for those who just want to socialize. Toledo First Seventh-day Adventist has them all, throughout the year. Keep an eye on the events calendar or review the ministry page to get more information for any upcoming event.
Connecting with the Community
Our ministry does not stop at the church doors. The message and love of Christ is meant for all, and we are always eager to share. We have created opportunities to connect to the community for all. Be on the look out for our community events, outreach, and evangelical services hosted throughout the year.
Connecting to the community through education Toledo Junior Academy proudly opened its doors on Independence Avenue before finally relocating in the new school connected to the newly built Toledo First Adventist Church in 2004. Recent expansions have added new classrooms and a gym. Current programs provide ample opportunity for those in the community to access the support of smaller class sizes and a Christian based education to support students. Visit their site for more information.
Connecting to the community by supporting their needs God's Food Pantry, our Bread ministry, and Kings Closet serve our community by making groceries and personal items available to those in need. These program run nearly every week of the year and are available to anyone in the community that needs support. Visit the ministry page to learn more about these services and the TFSDA events calendar to see the next time they will be available.
Connecting to family the James Meade Learning Center, established in 2003, was named after the late Pastor James Meade. James Meade Learning Center focuses on child development and quality care for children six weeks old through Pre Kindergarten. Visit their site for more information.
Connecting with YOU
We extend a special welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, gay, filthy rich, dirt poor, y no habla ingles. We extend a special welcome to those who are crying newborns, skinny as a rail, or could afford to lose a few pounds. We welcome you if you sing like Pavarotti or can’t carry a note in a bucket. You’re welcome here if you’re just browsing, just woke up, or just got out of jail. We don’t care if you’re more Catholic than the Pope, or haven’t been in church since little Joey’s baptism. We welcome our disabled worshipers who have brought their service dogs with them. We welcome Muslims, Jews, politicians, and sinners like us. We extend a special welcome to those who are over 60 but not grown up yet, and to teenagers who are growing up too fast. We welcome soccer moms, NASCAR dads, starving artists, tree-huggers, latte-sippers, vegetarians, junk-food eaters. We welcome those who are in recovery or still addicted. We welcome you if you’re having problems, or you’re down in the dumps, or you don’t like “organized religion;” we’ve been there too. If you blew all your offering money at the casino, you’re welcome here. We offer a special welcome to those who think the earth is flat, who work hard, don’t work, can’t spell, or come because grandma is in town and wanted to go to church. We welcome those who are inked, pierced, or both. We offer a special welcome to those who could use a prayer right now, had religion shoved down your throat as a kid, or got lost in traffic and wound up here by mistake. We welcome tourists, seekers, doubters, bleeding hearts . . . and you!
We are on Sylvania Avenue just west of Franklin Park Mall
